The 2012-2013 season was a whirlwind for our dancers. The three major performances (the Fall Concert, Davis Dance Project, and the Spring Concert) were closer together than they have been in previous seasons. The compact season afforded more time for community outreach and events. This year, the companies danced a Valentine’s Day flash mob in downtown Davis, performed at the Avid Reader’s grand opening of a new location, participated in the Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop’s winter Open House, The Sacramento Dance Sampler at Sacramento State University, Sacramento’s Didion School Ballet Folklorico Recital, and the opening of the West Sacramento Farmer’s Market dancing around the GrowYolo mandala.
What, you might ask, is coming up next? The dancers will take a few months to rest and take technique classes, then come September they’ll be back in the theater for rehearsals again. Dates for the upcoming 2013-2014 season will be announced soon.
